Month: November 2005

  • Alright, so this christmas I'm going to be totally broke and have absolutely NO money for christmas presents...

Does anyone have any good ideas for something I could make or do for people for christmas that they would love but wouldn't cost much?

(ps. I don't know how to knit, sew or anything like that)

Monday is an awful way to spend 1/7 of your life.

    This picture made me smile.

I finelly started feeling better tonight and after being stuck at home sick for 4 days I felt like I had to get out of the house - alas I had no money to do anything or get anywhere...

Thankfully my sister Meghan(AKA Mork! hehe) had mercy on me and since she hadn't seen Goblet of Fire yet, she paid for me to go see it with her...And I liked it just as much the 2nd time, yay!

After the movie we got some starbucks  I love their holiday peppermint mochas! I hadn't had starbucks in like forever...on account of my being broke at all...starbucks was my sister's treat as well, thanks Mork, you rock!

Hope you all had a great weekend!

    Peace, love, and peppermint mochas,

    <>< Amy

PS. I had a thought during the movie (*spoiler warning if you havent' seen the movie and don't want to know anything about it, don't read any farther*)you know how Harry fights the dragon? Well I had this thought while he was fighting it, why not do that spell where you say that word(i can't remember it of course)and then you have control over whoever you put the spell on...Harry's teacher had just given an example of that curse when they were in school, using it on a spider and making it dance across students heads...well if I was Harry, I would've done that curse and made the dragon go to sleep! I wonder why he didn't think of that? Guess it would've made that scene too short, lol...

I spoke too soon about getting better, I must've jinxed myself, cuz now i'm worse. :-p being sick sucks...I can't wait till Jesus comes back and we all get new, perfect bodies that never get sick or feel pain...that will be soooooo wonderful... *sighs*

I'm feeling a little bit better today...hopefully I can knock this sore throat out of my body by the end of the weekend.

Does your family make anything NON-traditional for thanksgiving dinner?

My family does make all the traditional foods but they also make something I've never heard of anyone else making at thanksgiving...

it's called pretzel salad and it's absolutely SCRUMPCIOUS! (though it's more of a desert then a salad)

it's made of strawberries, pretzels, cream cheese, cool whip, sugar, pinapple juice, butter and I think that's it..but it's really really good...it's sweet, salty, fruity, creamy, and oh so good.

You should try it, you can look up the recipe on-line.

  • I am sick...again. Oh the joys of working at a daycare center.

And now I have to miss all the fun tonight...I'm so sorry Mel. I will make it up to you, I promise. The next time shaun goes out of town, it's a girls night, on me!

    Here's another haiku for you ;

They weasle their way into my bloodstream

attacking my body like a pleague

    those dirty nasty germs.

    Haiku Holiday Friday

    Pilgrims, indians, turkey

    eating together brought peace
We should all eat a feast instead of starting a war

  • Why did they let the turkey join the band?
    He had the drumsticks!

What kind of music did the Pilgrims listen to?
    Plymouth Rock!

    And this last one goes out especially to Nancy, Mike and Derek;

Why did the Pilgrim eat a candle?
    He wanted a light snack!

    Psalm 79:13 (New Living Translation)

Then we your people, the sheep of your pasture,
will thank you forever and ever,
praising your greatness from generation to generation.

Apparently my love for hoodies and books started at a young age...

Me, reading to my younger sister Meghan. (is it just me, or does she seem more interested in big bird then the book I am reading her? lol)

My two older sisters are dressed up for "prairie school day" I don't know if I'm crying because I want to go to school too, or because my sister is so mean..

Me trying to read to my sister again, but looks like we both fell asleep!(must've been a boring book, lol)

  • You scored as Captain Jack Sparrow. Roguish,quick-witted, and incredibly lucky, Jack Sparrow is a pirate who sometimes ends up being a hero, against his better judgement. Captain Jack looks out for #1, but he can be counted on (usually) to do the right thing. He has an incredibly persuasive tongue, a mind that borders on genius or insanity, and an incredible talent for getting into trouble and getting out of it. Maybe its brains, maybe its genius, or maybe its just plain luck. Or maybe a mixture of all three.
