My sister Meghan, who was sick all last week and hasn't gotten better, went to the doctor today and found out she has a virul infection, bronchitis, bronchospasm, sinus infection & throat infection, all at once.

I asked her what her systems were, and I have all those same symtems...so looks like I might have everything she does.

But I can't go to the doctor or get meds because I don't have a job to pay for the meds or health insurance to cover a doctor's visit.

So I'm going to try and get better the natural way and drink lots of herbal tea/lemon/honey and rest alot.

PRAY I get better, this sucks. Plus I was counting on doing some more massages to pay my car payment and now I can't cuz I'm sick. Plus I can't be driving around putting my job applications in at more places like I was planning too cuz I'm sick.

    GRRRRR.

It's okay, everything happens for a reason. Maybe God allowed me to get sick because He didn't want me to get hired somewhere I would've applied to had I not gotten sick, cuz He has a job 10 times better waiting for me to apply to when I get better.

Yes, that's what I'm going to tell myself.

*singing* (wel, not really singing cuz my throat hurts, so i'm type singing)

    Everything is gonna be alright...rockabye...rockabye

    Everything is gonna be alright...rockabye...rockabye.

I love this song by Shaun Mullins.

    Shawn Mullins

    Lullaby Lyrics

    she grew up with
    the children of the stars
in the hollywood hills and the boulevard
    her parents threw big parties
    everyone was there
they hung out with folks like
dennis hopper, bob seeger, sonny and cher

    now, she feels safe
    in this bar on fairfax
and from the stage I can tell that
she can't let go and she can't relax
    and just before
she hangs her head to cry
I sing to her a lullaby, I sing

    everything's gonna be all right
    rockabye, rockabye
    everything's gonna be all right
    rockabye, rockabye
    rockabye

she still lives with her mom
    outside the city
down that street about a half a mile
and all her friends tell her
    she's so pretty
but she'd be a whole lot prettier
if she smiled once in a while
    `cause even her smile
    looks like a frown
she's seen her share of devils
    in this angel town

But, everything's gonna be all right
    rockabye, rockabye
    everything's gonna be all right
    rockabye, rockabye
    rockabye

    I told her I ain't so sure
    about this place
it's hard to play a gig in this town
    and keep a straight face
seems like everyone here's got a plan
it's kind of like nashville with a tan, but,

    everything's gonna be all right
    rockabye, rockabye
    everything's gonna be all right
    rockabye, rockabye

    everything's gonna be all right
    rockabye, rockabye
    everything's gonna be all right
    rockabye, rockabye,rockabye, bye, bye
    bye, bye

  • I woke up sick this morning.

It's probably cuz I baby sit a sick kid on friday, a different sick kid on saturday, PLUS my sister whom I live with has been sick.

So I guess my getting sick was unavoidable.

Sore throat, head ache and congestion, my least favorite sickness, cuz I can't sing.

If you call me and i don't answer, it's cuz it hurts to talk.

On a happy note, I did get my chronicles of narnia and harry potter books yesterday.

  •

I woke up FREEZING this morning... fall must officially be here, cuz in the summer time I wake up hot, and in the fall and winter I wake up cold. ...*shivers* *runs and puts on a jacket* *sips hot coffee* aaah..I feel much better now.

Spring time is the only season which I wake up feeling not too hot and not too cold. I love spring. Of course I love fall, summer and winter as well, but for different reasons.

For some odd reason I woke up at 7am today, after going to bed at 3am. I could've slept in till 11am, but I woke up at 7 wide awake. I am going to regret that later...grrr.

We had band practice at Amanda's last night, practising for our gig at the rose lawn on sunday, september 18th(be there, or be square! I posted info and directions at www.xanga.com/sweet_the_sound and www.myspace.com/sweetthesound ) and practice went good, despite the fact that we started REAAALLLY late cuz we couldn't find one of our mics and then oddly it turned up in the bathroom...(had amanda been singing in the mirror..hmmm..lol) and we were missing the keyboard sustain pedel cuz it got left at corey's house, but even so, things still went alright, considering...)

Jason, who's been playing drums for us(awesomely I might add, we got sooo many compliments on the drums at our last show....yaaay, Jason!)brought his friend Noah, and it was funny cuz he just told us he was bringing a friend and I assumed it was his girlfriend that was going to watch us or something, and it ended up being a guy, and not just any guy, but a really talented professional musician guy...

who we talked into playing with us...mwhahahahha... so he's gonna switch off with me on bass and rhythm guitar, Corey's gonna play lead guitar, and Amanda's gonna play keys and mandolin, and Jason will play drums. Oh and I get to play keys on one song too(Such Great Heights)and Amanda will play guitar on that song. haha we should name our band "The Switcharounds" cuz we switch around instruments so much, or as Noah suggested, "The Roundabouts" haha I like that idea, sounds british/australian..

Anyways, Noah's reeeeaaaallllly good, so hopefully we didn't scare him off and he'll play with us again.

Oh and guess what!?!?!? Our band picture/bio's going to be in the newspaper!!!!!!! OUR FIRST NEWSPAPER ARTICLE!!! How exciting is that?!?

Of course it's actually an article about the festival we're playing at the rose lawn, but they ARE mentioning us, putting our picture and bio in it, so that counts, right?

I will post the article when it comes out.

I'm excited cuz last year we sold out of our demos when we played there, so hopefully we will this year too, although we have like 3 times more demos then we did last year...(but hey, we weren't in the paper last year either..)if we sell enough demos maybe we'll actually have enough to record a PROFESSIONAL demo, instead of just using our computers at home. That would rock, totally.

Today I'm going to fill out some more job applications...pray I get a job soon, i hate being broke.

Then I'm going to get my car fixed...

Then I'm going to give Nancy a massage(thanks Nance, if it weren't for you paying me to give you a massage regularly I wouldn't have been able to pay my car payment the past few months)

And we're going to hang out afterwords and go to barnes n nobles and get the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe with a gift certificate I have there cuz I looooove that book and I lost it in one of our many moves.

I can't wait till the Narnia movie comes out!!! It looks so good, I got goosebumps when I first saw the preview.

I started writing a Narnia song the other day...it's not finished yet though, but I'll post the lyrics when it's done.

I also lost my copy of Harry Potter and the Prisioner of Azkaban so I think I'll pick up that too while I'm there, cuz I'm re-reading the Harry Potter series before the new movie comes out...which also looks really good I might add...the goblet of fire was one of my fave harry potter books, so I'm really looking forward to seeing the movie...I just hope they did the book justice.

I think I'll fill out a job application while I'm at barnes n noble and at the used music store next to barnes n noble. If I end up having to work retail, barnes n noble or a music store would definietly be on the top of my list of stores to work.

Hope y'all are having a good day so far, my faithful xanga readers. Love ya!

    <>< Amy

    VERSE OF THE DAY:
[Jesus replied,] "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and
with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your
strength.' The second is this: `Love your neighbor as yourself.'
There is no commandment greater than these."
        -- Mark 12:30-31

PS. Sorry to all of you that loved my red hair, but it was fading waaay too fast and I couldn't afford to keep re-dying it red, so my dad offered to pay for me to dye it back to my natural, dirty blonde color...so I did. And Amanda cut my bizangs(bangs)too. I will post pictures later. If you ask nicely.

I can tell people are praying for me, because today I've felt 100% better...and I've felt so happy all day, it's amazing what a change it is from yesterday...oh what wonders some sleep and prayers can do.

I got to sleep in today and then I went with my mom and sister and got a massage at GMI's student massage clinic, where students training to be a massage therapist give you an hour massage for 20 bucks...but today it was freeee, cuz today was "client appreciation day"....a free one hour massage, how cool is that?!

And...it gets even better!! The students teacher was asking us if we wanted to schedule another appointment for next saturday, and my mom and sister both said yes(cuz they go almost every week)but I said no(because it's not usually free and I can't afford to pay anything, even though it's only 20 bucks normally which is like reaaallly cheap for an hour massage)

and the teacher was like "why aren't you re-scheduling" to me and I told him I was broke, and he was like, "well, come anyways, we'll give you another free one since you are broke". How awesome is that?!? I was absolutely thrilled...cuz after lugging my big massage table around giving different people massages during the week, I'm usually pretty sore on the weekends...so yeah I was really happy about that. YAY!

And then after the massage the devil was probably mad that I was feeling so much happier today, and he tried to get me down, by letter a buggy run into my brand new spotless car that I got in January, and leaving two HUGE dents in the side of it....

I do NOT have the money to repair that right now, and then I remembered that when I first got the car it had a tiny dint in the hood and the car place offered to fix it for free since it was new and all, but they have this guy that works for another company and comes and fixes dents for them, so I had to call him and set up an appointment and stuff...and I remember thinking I should keep his number incase I ever get any more dents. He was really fast too, he fixed that other dent in like 15 minutes.

And I remember him asking me where I worked while I he was fixing my car, and I told him I was a professional massage therapist and he was like, wow that's awesome, I love massages...(EVERYONE says this to me when they find out my profession)

SO ANYWAYS....A thought came to my mind as I saw the two new dents in my car, why not call him up and see if he'd do a trade, fix my car in exchange for a massage! So I called him up and asked him that and he said YES! So yay, now I get my car fixed and have to pay NOTHING. Sweeeeeeet.

Of course my dad freaked out when I told him I was giving that guy a massage and was like, you better not go to his house or anything and I was like, OH MY GOSH, I would NEVER go to a guy's house to give him a massage, I only massage guys in professional business offices. I only do house calls for girls. haha

So yeah I'll probably give that car fixer guy a massage at my friend Erica's dad's office, he's a chiropractor and said I could use his office whenever I needed to.

After the massage I went by starbucks and got a mint mocha frappucinno with my starbucks gift card, which was totally yummmmyyy(And I am still feeling the effects of it as I am SUPER buzzed and typing 90 miles a minute)

Although it was kinda freaky at starbucks cuz I went through the drive thru and what sounded like a huge black dude took my order and like hit on me over the intercom, and when I got up to the window, it wasn't a big black dude, but instead it was a big white lesbian!! AAAAAH!!!!

I think she must've liked my kamo green and black tshirt or something, maybe she thought I was masculine and had been hunting or something? Of course if you look at the FRONT of the shirt it has a dove/flower and says "peace" which is definitely girly..but anyways...that kinda freaked me out and disturbed me alittle, because I'm just never expecting to be hit on my girls so when it happens i'm like...EEWWWW!!!!!!!! And then I wonder if I look like a lesbian or something and wonder if they thought that and why they hit on me and then I am even more disturbed.

And don't get me wrong, I do not hate lesbians/gay people at all, two of my friends are gay guys and I love them, I just don't love their lifestyle...I consider it a sin, but in God's eyes all sins are equal so my sin in God's eyes is just as bad as their's, so I don't condem them at all...and I get so mad at christians that do....because they condem homosexuals and march with signs and stuff, but yet they are just as guilty because they knowingly sin by lying, gossiping, gluttony, etc, which is just as equal to homosexuality in God's eyes.

I'll have to admit I get along with gay guys way more then lesbians though, nothing personal to any lesbians that might be reading this, but I guess since I've had multiple lesbians hit on me that I am a bit paranoid that I am going to be hit on by them. Nothing personal...it just makes me feel...awkward...cuz I am NOT a lesbian. I love boys...and feel very strange/disturbed and uncomfortable when girls hit on me.

So yeah, after that I blasted my music/tried to clear what had just happened out of my mind, sang at the top of my lungs, sipped my fappucinno, and then I headed to the boonies of taylorsville to babysit the kids I used to be a nanny for.

They are sooooooo sweet, I love babysitting them. They are hilarious and always crack me up, I laughed so much the seven year old asked me why I laugh all the time..I told him I just couldn't help it cuz he was so funny.

Here are some pictures of them -

    Stephie, Sam and Evan

Stephie and her great dane, Daisy Duke, asleep...Daisy's bigger than Stephie!!!

It looks like Daisy's attacking the cat, but the cat's really attacking daisy..daisy was just laying down asleep and the cat ran up under her head, wrapped his arms around her and started kicking her face, see the white blur, that's his feet moving at the speed of lightning!

We played phase 10 and watched Napoleon Dynamite, and I got 50 bucks. How cool is that, 50 bucks to play phase 10 and watch napoleon dynamite, if only I could do that every day...

They dared me to call my sisters and quote napoleon dynamite and ask them to "bring me some chapstick cuz my lips hurt real bad" so first I called my sister Meghan, here is our conversation.

Amy; Hey, Meghan, can you bring me some chapstick. *bursts out laughing*

    Meghan; *confused sounding* what?!

Amy: *laughs* Can you bring me some chapstick, my lips hurt real bad...

Meghan; *annoyed sounding* no I am NOT bringing you chapstick!!

Amy;  *laughs hystarically* I don't really want you to bring me chapstick, I was quoting napoleon dynamite...

Meghan: oh..I don't like napoleon dynamite and I didn't remember that part. But mom does and she is laughing really hard.

And then I called my sister Amanda, who i know for a fact has seen napoleon dynamite and who's 5 year old son can quote the entire movie, word for word. I thought surely she would get it.

Amy; Hey Amanda, can you bring me some chapstick, my lips hurt real bad

Amanda: aww, poor thing, are they like really chapped or something, sure, I'll bring you some...

Amy: *laughing* oh my gosh, you are so sweet, I can't believe you were actually going to bring me chapstick..I don't really want any, I was quoting napoleon dynamite...

Amanda; oooooooh...*laughs* I should've gotten that, but I'm just really tired....

Amy: *laughs* I still can't believe you were going to bring me some, you are too nice.

How funny is that?! Me and the kids were laughing hystarically, it was awesome.

Hope you're all having a good weekend so far, thanks again for the encouragement, and the prayers, I can definitely feel them.

    Love you all!

  •

*the much needed and much more pleasent post, as promised* (also much shorter, as I have to leave to go somewhere in 15 minutes)

First of all I want to thank all of you that left me such encouraging comments on that last post...I printed all of them out to keep in a drawer next to my bed to read when I get discouraged. I am so blessed to have such awesome, Godly friends, that encourage me sooo much when I get down.

It's like that Audio A song days "I get down, He lifts me up" that is so true...God has blessed me with so many great and encouraging friends, that help lift me up when I get down, I feel so blessed for that.

    Thank you.

I also did some major talking and listening to God last night, and felt much much better after that.

Sometimes I forget the reason that I'm here on this earth anyways. Because of Him...

Life isn't all about me, it's all about Him.

All those stupid things I feel dissapointed about are nothing in the long run, all that matters is Him.

So right now I'm attempting to get my focus off of my stupid self pitying self and back onto our glorious Abba Father, where my focus always should be and where I have the most peace.

I think that's when I am most discontent and dissapointed, is when I focus on myself, instead of God.

Thank all of you for helping me get my focus back onto Him.

And please pray that I can find a church home soon too, cuz I know that would help encourage me alot as well.

I must head out now, going to run some arrends and then babysit till late(if you call and i don't answer it's cuz i'm babysitting in the boonies of taylorsville - no phone reception, just to warn you!)

I love all of you so much, thank you again for the encouragement and prayers.

God bless each and every one of you!

  • *edit*

Oh joy, Another boring friday night stuck at home because I have no gas money to go anywhere and no money to do anything fun once i get wherever i went, anyway.

It's probably best I'm not around anyone, anyways, considering that lack of sleep that I got last night turned me into like the queen of grouches. Which is probably the root of my insane ventings below. I appologize and promise to write a much more pleasent entry when I have gotten some sleep.

My sister and nephew might come over tonight though, hopefully i won't be too grouchy around them and maybe my nephew will actually make me laugh, he usually does.

    *end of edit*

%$#%$#%$#%$#%!!!!!!!!!!! *sighs* (warning; I only had 2 hours of sleep last night, I've had 4 glasses of caffiene, and my mind is a mental mess right now, so I appologize ahead of time to everyone reading this, but I really need to write this all out and work through these mental ravings I am having right now)

I called the cartersville hospital today to make sure the position I wanted was still available before I drove over there to fill out an application/talk to the manager, and the receptionist said it was so I drove over, filled out the application, and asked to speak to the manager.

Well, the manager says sorry but they just hired someone yesterday and she forgot to tell the receptionist.

So once again, I got my hopes up, wasted time, and gas money, to once again be dissapointed.

Of course there are still the job possibilities at the Kennesaw and Rome Hospitals, but those are both 30 miles away which will consist of 60 miles driving a day, major gas money wasting. I'm still going to apply of course...and  if i made enough money I could just move to kennesaw or rome and live near my work, that's always a possibility.

I'm just so frustrated, I've gone to so many interviews, filled out so many applications, only to be dissapointed and rejected again and again...for 3 months....it's so dissapointing.

I honestly feel like such a failure right now, not just in my career but in every area of my life...physically, mentally, spiritually, emotionally, financially & romantically.

Physically I feel like a failure because I'm really fat and unhealthy, which I could change if I worked out and ate better but lately as depressed as I've been I've lacked the motive to do that, I just want to make myself feel better by eating chocolate and sleeping, which definetly doesn't help the weight issue. I know if I work out i'll feel better and be happier, it's just actually getting to the gym that's the hard part when you're feeling like crap.

Mentally I feel like a failure because I wasn't self-disciplined in my schooling at all in the past and I feel stupid, unedjucated, forgetful and flakey. I love to read and study and learn new things, but for some reason I can't seem to remember much of what I read/learn, I feel like Dorey in Finding Nemo.

Spiritually I feel like a failure because I feel like I've dissapointed God because I don't spend enough time reading His word and I'm not envolved in a church at all...I've visited lots of them but I can't seem to find one that I fit in or feel like I should be. I know God loves me no matter what and that His love is unconditional, but I still want to please Him with what i do and I feel like by not being as faithful as I should that I'm not pleasing Him like I should.

Emotionally I think I'm just messed up because of all the failures in the other areas of my life, although I can usually just laugh about most things, it's because I try not to dwell on things and always think "it could be worse".

Financially I feel like a failure because I'm 24 years old and I still live with my parents and I have a bunch of debts to pay off. I tried to save up and actually did but then when I got let go from my job 3 months ago, all my savings got cleared out when I had to pay bills with it.

Some people, who shall remain nameless, have made jokes to me about me being like these 40 year old losers that they know that still live with their mom's and don't have jobs, and that really hurts me. I don't want to be 40 years old and living with my parents, jobless. I'd work at mcdonalds and live in a shack before I let that happen. It really hurts when people say things like that to me.

Romantically I feel like a failure because I'm 24 years old and have never had a boyfriend or been kissed or even held hands. Ten year olds have experience more then I have in twice their lifetime!

I know this could be something I should be proud of, but the fact is, no guy has ever even TRIED to kiss me, so that i could refuse him even. No guy that I like has ever liked me back. I feel unwanted , repulsive and unattractive to guys, and I'm so scared of being an old maid and dying never been kissed.

Everyone always says "Oh, you're so beautiful, you're such a wonderful person, you'll meet a really great guy oneday" which is encouraging, but it would've been nice to at least have one guy that i like, like me back. It makes me feel like somethings wrong with me or like I'm insane or something.

So there you have it, the reason why I feel like I'm a failure at everything in every area of my life.

If it weren't for God and having faith in Him that things will get better.....honestly..I would probably kill myself right now. I know for a fact that I would be dead right now if I weren't a christian.

    I wouldn't have a reason to live.

The only reason I'm still alive, is for God. I long for nothing more than to please Him. I can't wait to go to heaven oneday and spend eternity worshipping Him.

If I could do anything I wanted all day long every day, it would be to praise and worship Him.

Honestly, I hate this world and everything in it, I can't wait to go to heaven.

It's like that caedmon's call song says "this world has nothing for me, and this world has everything...all that I could want and nothing that I need".

But I do know that God has me here on this earth for a reason, and don't worry, I would never commit suicide because of that very fact. God has me here for a reason, and although every other area of my life totally sucks, I'm going to stick it out and keep on living...for Him.

I also realize how incredibly BLESSED I am and that I have lots of friends and family that love me and I have a warm bed to sleep in, clothes to wear and food to eat.......and I know I'm blessed in every area I feel like I'm a failure in too so to make myself feel better I'm going to try and least some good things about all those areas of my life -

Mentally - I can read and write words, I can read music and play multiple instruments.

Physically - I can see, hear, talk, smell, think and feel and have all of my arms and legs and toes and fingers and am not sick or dying or anything, for that I am truely blessed.

Spiritually - I am blessed to have faith in God and know that He loves me and that my life here on earth is only a short time compared to the eternity I'll spend in heaven

Emotionally - I am not diagnosed with any emotional disorder or illness and for the most part am a very optimistic/happy go lucky person

Financially - I have made just enough money doing odd jobs the past few months to pay my car/insurance payments

Romance - I haven't had my heart broken or any regrets in that area, so for that I am blessed.

    There, I feel better now.

Sorry to any of you that read all of that, although I'll be surprised if anyone actually did..if you did though, thank you, and I hope it wasn't too discouraging but that it encouraged you somehow.

I've discovered a new career I want to pursue!

     Physical Therapy Tech/Aid.

Basically I would be assisting a physical therapist, which I did at my old job when I wasn't doing massage, and loved that.

I found out there are two job positions open doing that, too! yay!

One is at the hospital in cartersville and one at the hospital in kennesaw.

I'm going to apply to the cartersville one first since it's closer, and if I don't get hired there, then apply at the kennesaw one.

It's full time hours with benefits and is in a field which I'm really interested in...

So, your prayers would be greatly appreciated! I'm going to the cartersville hospital to talk to them tomorrow.

Wish me luck and PRAY HARD!

  • Funny how I can get more comments on a post filled with no words as I can with one with hundreds of words.

Still haven't found a job, but I've been doing just enough massages on friends and family and friends of friends and family that I've been able to pay my car/car insurance, so that's been a blessing.

I'd still like to have full time hours/a normal schedule somewhere though, so still keep me in your prayers.

I've been to lots of  interviews but no one has hired me..talk about a self esteem downer.

It's all good though, because I know I will get hired eventually.

It's almost fall. I love fall. I also love summer, but this summer has sucked and I'm ready for it to be over, welcoming fall with open arms.
