    I got a job...and lost a job...all in one week.

It's a long story but I'll try to give you the short version.

Basically, I was working in a physical therapy center as a PT Tech(assisting the physical therapist) and they asked me to work this mechine where you strap someone's arm or leg in and program to work, but if programed incorrectly it could break the person's arm or leg.

Only the physical therapists are suppose to work the mechine, legally I'm not allowed to, but they wanted me to anyway. (which is basically asking me to break the law)

And if done incorrectly I could've seriously injured patients. So I refused to do that...because I don't want to do something illegal OR that could hurt someone.

So I talked to my manager and asked if it would be possible for me NOT to use that mechine but keep on working there, and she said no, that if I kept working there I would have to use the mechine.

    So...I quit.

Pray for me, because all my family is really mad at me right now because they think I should've found another job before I quit this one, which is probably true, but still, I refused to do something illegal that could hurt people, so there's no way I wanted to stay there a day longer...

but my family doesn't seem to understand that and have basically made me in tears ever since it all happened...and if I don't find another job by the end of next week they're probably going to kick me out.

My sister Meghan said there's a job opening at the dentist office where she works so I'm going to apply there and hopefully that will work out.

So yeah, if you're the praying type, I could definetly use some prayer right now.

This song by Travis that is currently playing in the background of my xanga seems to be my theme song for the past 12 months.

Why does it always rain on me? (by travis)

    I can’t sleep tonight
    Everybody saying everything’s alright
Still I can’t close my eyes
I’m seeing a tunnel at the end of all these lights

    Sunny days
    Where have you gone?
I get the strangest feeling you belong

Why does it always rain on me?
Is it because I lied when I was seventeen?
Why does it always rain on me?
Even when the sun is shining
    I can’t avoid the lightning

    I can’t stand myself
I’m being held up by invisible men
Still life on a shelf when
I got my mind on something else

    Sunny days
    Where have you gone?
I get the strangest feeling you belong

Why does it always rain on me?
Is it because I lied when I was seventeen?
Why does it always rain on me?
Even when the sun is shining
    I can’t avoid the lightning

Oh, where did the blue skies go?
And why is it raining so?
    It’s so cold

    I can’t sleep tonight
    Everybody saying everything’s alright
Still I can’t close my eyes
I’m seeing a tunnel at the end of all these lights

    Sunny days
    Where have you gone?
I get the strangest feeling you belong

Why does it always rain on me?
Is it because I lied when I was seventeen?
Why does it always rain on me?
Even when the sun is shining
    I can’t avoid the lightning
Oh, where did the blue skies go?
And why is it raining so?
    It’s so cold
Why does it always rain on me?
    Why does it always rain...

  • Well, I made it through my first day at work...barely. j/k.

The people I work with all seemed pretty nice...and I was given a heads up about the ones that aren't so nice, lol, so that's good.

Being a PT Tech is REALLLLY hard work physically though, I was running on my feet all day, seriously like running back and forth between physical therapists on different sides of the building(which is GINORMOUS by the way) plus lifting patients up and down off mechines and stuff, it's quite a workout...I'm like reaaalllly sore from head to toe now...One things for sure, this job is going to whip me into shape, lol...that's a good thing. But these first couple of weeks I'm going to feel like crap at the end of the day..:-p I'll get used to it though.

Oh and one funny side note - I had to give a patient an ice massage today! Which is funny since i'm a certifide massage therapist..I'm used to giving people massages they love though, not toturing ice massage, lol..the guy was nice though, it was an old british grandpa so I talked to him about england and stuff. I felt really mean rubbing ice on him though!  I'm going to have to get used to those torture like therapies... I just have to keep telling myself(and the patients, lol)that although it might not feel good at the time it'll help make them feel better afterwords.

Thanks to all of you that prayed for me..about getting a job, and surviving my first day. YOU ROCK!

  • So today was orientation all day for my new job. My orientation wasn't at the office I'll be working at though...I had to go to Atlanta, to the same orientation as like all the doctors/nurses/physical therapists/assistants/etc for like 5 different hospitals/doctor's offices, etc so there was like 200 people there, it was crazy.

I had to be there at 7:30am, leave at 6:30am, and get up at 5:30am. I felt so weird when I was driving and it was still dark, I felt like it was the middle of the night and I was getting up and driving, it was so weird..

I'm glad I don't have to get up and drive that early every morning...thankfully I'll be working the 10am-6:30pm shift at my office, so I don't have to get up earlier then 8am. Yay!(although 8 is still pretty early for me, lol! Much better then 5:30 though, that's FOR SURE!!!)

Tomorrow's my first day at my new office....PRAY! I am kinda nervous because it's a pretty big office compared to where I used to work...at my last job there was only 10 employees(and usually only 5 there at a time)and the job I had before that I worked ALONE..at my new office I'll be working with like 30 people so that'll be quite an adjustment for me...

But I usually get along with most people so I'm sure I'll be fine..I just hate being new and not knowing all the ropes, you know? So pray that God guides me and helps me remember all the new stuff I have to learn and everything.

  •

So tonight's concert was...interesting...to say the least. (we had some major tech. difficulties...)

Thanks to Leah and her gang for showing up to watch us, or else we would've just been playing for the band that was playing after us, lol...(not a big turn out, to say the least) but hey, it was just like a practice, with a few people watching..lol.. so that was cool.

Hopefully people came earlier and donated lots of money to the hurricane victims...at least I hope so.

I am going to hang with Leah now. Hope y'all are having fun...doing...whatever it is you've been doing this weekend.

    Peace out!

    <>< Amy

    How You Are In Love

You take a while to fall in love with someone. Trust takes time.

You give and take equally in relationships.

You tend to get very attached when you're with someone. You want to see your love all the time.

You love your partner unconditionally and don't try to make them change.

You stay in love for a long time, even if you aren't loved back. When you fall, you fall hard.

Wow, this is so true... except for the wanting to see your love all the time part...I need a little space and don't want to feel "stalked"...
